emmah. is a design studio by Emma Hoogstede (1996) in the city centre of Rotterdam. In the studio all contemporary designs are handmade with care and craftsmanship. 

‘Because life is serious enough, we'd better surround ourselves with cheerful and playful everyday things’.

 

Each product in the emmah. collection is unique. Small differences and the hand of the designer make each piece special. You can cherish it for a lifetime. The emmah. products come in surprisingly fresh color combinations. They have a flexible function and their ambiguous character invites play.

As Emma says: ‘I love to create designs that bring playfulness into our lives’.

 

Since there had always been a healthy obsession for 'How it's made' videos -a lot of curiousity for how things are and can be made- studiying Product Design was an exciting step to take. After obtaining a bachelors degree Product Design at ArtEZ, Arnhem, Emma moved to Rotterdam. This city is an ever changing environment. It is an important source of inspiration for the colorful interior designs of emmah.
